But don’t let the change of seasons stop you going out as over the next weekend there are fantastic selections of exciting events taking place.

Vintage Fair celebrates the 20th century

Enfield’s first Vintage Fair brings the design delights from the past to a great occasion for all those who love retro classic clothes and collectible items from 30s Art Deco to the uncompromising power dressing of the 80s.

Visitors will be able to find amazing items to wear or decorative pieces for the home in this fascinating market place that celebrates the decades through the treasures of the past.

Capel Manor – Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show

Motor along to the Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show with cars from as far back as the 1920s, the Annual Rally of the North London and Middlesex Morris Minors Association, auto jumble, the Enfield Brass Band and crafts in the Manor House with Fig Fairs.

ENFIELD TOWN SHOW

Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2010 – 10.30am – 6pm
Enfield Autumn Show, Town Park, Enfield
There will be exciting arena events throughout both days including displays of birds of prey, dogs and sports activities from the Sports Development team & Brimsdown Bowls Club.

A wide range of local services from Enfield Council, the Met Police and Enfield NHS, the voluntary sector, and charities will all come together in the Enfield Council Village area.

The Stage will be a main focal point, as it will be a purpose built live music stage which will be jam packed with great music, dancing, performance and more. Performers will include Pauline Black & the Selector playing on Saturday afternoon. I am sure you will dance the afternoon away to the ska and reggae sounds from this excellent 80s band famed for anthems like ‘Mirror in the Bathroom’, and messages of hope and peace. Playing on Sunday are Cerebro, a North London based all male dance troupe, Jive Aces, a jive band who have played to millions over the years and Stavros Flatley our own home grown success, creating a truly magical mix of worldwide and local emerging arts and music talent. In addition many exceptional local groups will be singing, dancing and performing.

Enterprise Enfield Business Awards Opens for Entries!
£1,000 for Winners in Each Category
The 2011 Enterprise Enfield Business Awards are open to enter. This year, more than ever, with the gloomy economic climate and the affects of the riots, London’s businesses owners deserve to be recognised and rewarded for their sheer hard work and determination to overcome difficult times, survive and grow. Enterprise Enfield is committed to supporting and celebrating businesses achievements through this annual competition, which is part-funded by local charity, The RSA Trust.
New for this year is the Enfield Retailer of the Year Award. In light of the recent riots, Enfield Council is working hard to help businesses affected and to ensure that Enfield is a safe place to live and work. The Enfield Retailer of the Year Award is sponsored by the Council and forms one of a number of initiatives designed to support and recognise the achievements of traders in the borough.
There are four categories which are open to small and medium sized businesses located in the London borough of Enfield (full entry requirements are available with the entry forms):
➢ Start-Up Business of the Year (under 2 years of trading)
➢ Business of the Year (over 2 years of trading)
➢ Green Business of the Year
➢ Enfield Retailer of the Year
Winners in each of the categories receive £1,000 prize funding and runners up receive £500, this year Enterprise Enfield is also offering a FREE business advice session or business seminar to all eligible applicants completing the entry form. In addition to the prize money, winners and runners up gain valuable publicity and the opportunity to display the award logo on their website and marketing material. The awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner celebration evening at the Royal Chace Hotel on Thursday 3rd November. The closing date for entries is 5pm Monday 3rd October.
